Fashion seeks out the new, awakens the need for change, and plays with the appeal of permanent transformation. It implies creative techniques, innovative processes, and social exchange, while at the same time producing inclusions and exclusions. What is considered fashion is a social agreement. Fashion is a social system and functions in different social contexts. Its production increasingly raises questions about social responsibility. Fashion is also an affirmative or critical statement, it continues to spin historical threads, and it must constantly reinvent itself. On the one hand, it functions as wearable clothing in the world of the profane and everyday, and on the other hand, it puts its characteristic of permanently representing the new and, in this sense, being special and exclusive, in the spotlight.
Fashion. Wow! showed selected outfits and artistic works by graduates, students, and teachers from the departments of Textile – Free, Applied, and Artistic Design; Fashion; Social Design; and from the costume and fashion collection of the University of Applied Arts, as well as other guest artists.
